This bug was fixed in the package myspell-pt-br - 20131030-3

---------------
myspell-pt-br (20131030-3) unstable; urgency=low

  * Rebuild against sid dictionaries-common-dev 1.23.2 to properly clean
    dirs.
  * debian/rules: No longer ship symlinks to /var/lib/aspell.
  * Close old (LP: #760724), myspell symlinks are obsolete.
  * Close old (LP: #108899), BrOffice dictionary is used since 2007.04.11.

Title:
  Missing symbolic links for pt-br dictionary in
  /usr/share/myspell/dicts

Status in “myspell-pt-br” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: myspell-pt-br

  $ lsb_release -rd
  Description:	Ubuntu Natty (development branch)
  Release:	11.04

  $ apt-cache policy myspell-pt-br
  myspell-pt-br:
    Installed: 20101030-1
    Candidate: 20101030-1
    Version table:
   *** 20101030-1 0

  en-us and it-it symbolic links exist in /usr/share/myspell/dicts. As a
  visible consequence, you can spell check in these languages in
  Firefox, for instance. Although myspell-pt-br is installed, there's no
  link for it in that same folder, so Firefox doesn't offer Brazilian
  Portuguese as a language for spell checking.

  I added them as root pointing to the hunspell dictionaries:

  $ ls -l /usr/share/myspell/dicts/pt*
  lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 2011-04-14 16:04 /usr/share/myspell/dicts/pt_BR.aff -> ../../hunspell/pt_BR.aff
  lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 2011-04-14 16:04 /usr/share/myspell/dicts/pt_BR.dic -> ../../hunspell/pt_BR.dic

  When I restarted Firefox, Brazilian Portuguese was now an option for
  spell checking.

  On a side note, I wanted to as you: why are there two links for each
  language in /usr/share/myspell/dicts/? E.g. one is en-US (with dash)
  and the other is en_US (with underscore):

  $ ls -l /usr/share/myspell/dicts/en*.aff
  lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 2011-04-13 13:41 /usr/share/myspell/dicts/en_US.aff -> ../../hunspell/en_US.aff
  lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 2011-04-13 13:41 /usr/share/myspell/dicts/en-US.aff -> ../../hunspell/en_US.aff

  That makes Firefox recognize two different U.S. English dictionaries.
  Are both symlinks really necessary?

  Thanks,
  - Vítor
