Or even just "Ubuntu can connect to..." since "from the start" is a bit
redundant, come to think of it.

It isn't possible to make string changes at this point, but this might
be good to play with for 10.10.

This sounds like ubuntu automaticaly connects to facebooks and starts sharing what you are doing.
It would probably be better to say some thing like:

"From the start, Ubuntu is able connects to online chat, and broadcast services including Facebook, Twitter, Windows Live and Google Talk."
