No, I didn't try Help & Support.

Indeed, it appears to be an issue with my graphics drivers, I have a
hybrid system that to date used to default to the integrated Intel
graphics, but now changed to NIVIdia by default.

I just filed a bug. Sorry for the inconvenience, I will mark this as a
duplicate...

** Description changed:

-
- I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 from a daily built.
+ I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 from a daily built.

Aside from the installation being slower than usual, whenever I changed
Slide on the Slideshow, severe tearing occured during transitions.

Actually you could see randomly distributed and randomly sized grey
rectangles moving along with the transitions.

It is the first time I fully install Ubuntu 12.04, but I have never
experienced the same issue with previous Ubuntu versions, as far as the
slideshow goes. So, AFAIK it is a regression for my system

Note: It might be the graphics drivers for my system to blame, I see
noticable tearing whenever I move windows around, and smooth scrolling
is noticably worse than it used to in Ubuntu 11.10.
