steps to reproduce:
1. Switch language to Chinese and add Chinese - pinyin input method 
2. Reboot
3. Enter system system 
4. Tap Search bar
5. Switch input method to Chinese - pinyin
6. Type in Pinyin to search 

Expected Result:
It can be searching by input Chinese

Actual Result:
It doesn't able to input Chinese

** Affects: ubuntu-keyboard (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Low
         Status: New
