Steps:
I used skype for this to make it easy to repro

0. Set your phone by opening the messaging app to a thread for a conversation that you are not about to test then use the power button to blank the screen
1. Open skype you on your desktop
2. Use skype to send a text to your phone
3. Wait a few seconds for the alert
4. Click on the notification to open it as a conversation in the messaging app
5. use the power button to blank your screen again
6. use skype to send another text

Result:
The alert sounds plays, and the screen turns on, but there is no notification and the message is not in the messaging menu. If you unlock the phone you see the message in the conversation.

Expected:
The notification shows and the message is in the indicator.
