I like both take 1 and take 2.

I think take 1 might be better, but I'm concerned that when either
'registered attendees' or 'event comments' hold to many items the layout
may become unbalanced/broken. Have you tested that?

Bug description:
Events pages (i.e. http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/team/263/detail/) are rather ugly. Some specific issues that should probably get fixed are:

1) Text extends out past the edges of the boxes
2) It is cluttered
3) The location information and event comments should probably be below the registered attendees
4) "This event is part of:" looks very strange when wrapped.
