I would find some sort of subscribe function much easier than what I'm
currently doing, logging in every X amount of time just to see if
anything has changed. Even if it was a manual "subscribe to this
meeting/event" button it would be a good idea.

Has there been any progress with this?

Bug description:
  It would be good to send email updates for the following:

  1) When a team event is created, an email can be sent to the team's
  mailing list

  2) When a team event is updates, an email can be sent to either a
  team's mailing list, or just individuals who have registered for the
  event.
