We already do have RSS feeds, would improving this be a better solution
than emails? Because, I'm not a fan of LTP mailing people.  Already
folks complain about too much email.  And RSS feeds are opt-in and
almost fits the problem.  Not everyone is a fan of their inbox becoming
bigger.

  Send Email updates

Bug description:
  It would be good to send email updates for the following:

  1) When a team event is created, an email can be sent to the team's
  mailing list

  2) When a team event is updates, an email can be sent to either a
  team's mailing list, or just individuals who have registered for the
  event.
