[Bug 910054] Re: [Eir] not in sync with bantracker references

I have added a temporary throwaway prototype bot (pinkymouse) to the control channel, it looks for channel notices and parses the hostmask from the string that eir provides and turns it into an ubottu bantracker URL and provides it back to the channel.
If this proves to be a useful concept then it would appear that contributing a patch to eir to extend the functionality of the describe_ban function of bantracker.pl would be feasible. Basically adding a per-channel optional config variable to supply a formatting string for describe_ban, so we might set it to something like

\002$type\002\[$i]
http://ubottu.com/bans.cgi?query=$mask&kicks=on&bans=on&oldbans=on&mutes=on&oldmutes=on&floodbots=on
was set by $operator on $setDate and expired on $actionDate
