no 9.10 eu não sei, mas vc o processo é adicionar o ppa do
https://edge.launchpad.net/~netbook-remix-team/+archive/ppa

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install go-home-applet human-netbook-theme maximus ume-launcher
window-picker-applet

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart

pode ter alguns problemas, mas nada grave
