He triaged the bug and prepared a new version for being uploaded, looks
more than good for me.

The candidate is working pretty good with the desktop team doing
packaging uploads but haven't seen him doing triage there. I'd prefer to
encourage him to join the MOTU team rather since as you said we need
more people focused on triage on the bugcontrol team.
