It looks like this bug is fixed!
Today I updated Ubuntu and I've noticed that there was a new patch for gtk2-engines-pixbuf... so I decided to test f-spot using new wave theme and there were no crashes.
I've restarted my computer after update.
Can someone please confirm this?
