This bug was initially reported in Ubuntu 7.04 or 7.10 and continued to
be reported all the to ubuntu 10.04. Without a change log, I would be
very hesitant to close it before the Natty release (April 2011). This
gives it enough time that if further comments or duplicates are not
given, it would probably be safe to close. Considering that Lucid
10.04.2 will release tentatively 2011-02-17, giving an additional
update to that release image.
As I have often told others, length of time in triaged status is not an
indicator of any fix. Bugs are fixed, as you know, based on the
developers time and ability. Closing a bug because it sat in one status
too long often results in a regression.
