Message #00040
Updated branch names for the OCI repositories
Hi,
I have just performed some updates/removals of branches in our OCI git
repositories according to the inclusive wording initiative.
Here are the changes:
- The 'utils' repository's main branch is now named 'main'. The
'master' branch has been deleted. I took the opportunity to delete a
lot of our old development branches there as well, and I would like to
ask everyone to use the regular
"create-your-own-repository-before-opening-an-MP" workflow on
Launchpad in order to avoid polluting the branch namespace again.
Bryce, I wasn't entirely sure whether I could delete the following 3
branches:
- software-versions-image-extraction
- software-versions
- update-and-check-images
Could you please take a look at them and see if it's OK to remove them
as well? TIA
- The 'templates' repository's main branch is now named 'main'. The
'master' branch has been deleted. Just like with the 'utils' repo, I
also deleted a bunch of our old development branches.
- Although we don't use the 'master' branch inside each image's
repository, they still existed. I went ahead and deleted all of them.
- Out of an abundance of caution, I ran that "woke" program mentioned
during the last team meeting on all of our repositories and everything
seems OK.
Thanks,
