I was able to overclock it by using the ricey script after installing ubuntu eee.  There is an overclocking icon that will be installed in your home directory after running the script.  It will run gksu oc.sh to overclock the cpu to 800MHz. It will actually go up to 700 first, then oscillate to 800, then stabilize at 800 after a few minutes.
