Have you edited /etc/fstab and removed the reference to the cdrom line?

Just comment it out, or remove it if it exists.
"/dev/sdc1 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec 0 0"

If it still fails, what is the output of "tail /var/log/syslog"
immediately after you get the message?
