Re: [Question #44490]: I have a EeePC 2G Surf. It is enough to install Ubuntu EEE? Do I need to do some trick to install it? Any one has such experience. Thanks

Question #44490 on Ubuntu Eee changed:

cleentrax proposed the following answer:
Yes, you can install Ubuntu-eee 8.04.1 on a 2G Surf, without requiring
an SDHC card. While you can use the additional card for your USR or your
Home directory, I chose to install without that requirement, so I could
use various SDHC cards for portable media, such as movies and music.

Once you succeed, your 2gig internal drive will be nearly completely
full, but I fixed that by replacing Open Office with Abiword, freeing up
about 300mB.

In order to install on a 2G Surf, make sure you choose "No Localization"
on the first install screen, and do a manual install, with an ext2
format and no swap drive.
