i haven't found an answer on this anywhere. i just installed ubuntu eee 8.04.1 and when i try to enable Advanced desktop effects (even from a clean install, i tried it twice) i get he message that the child process compiz is not recognized. So i installed compiz from synaptic (along with all the dependencies it found and when i try to enable it i get major graphical glitches all over the place. It looks like nothing is being automatically redrawn. Only when i hover over something does it redraw, else i see the desktop.

is this a known problem? is there a fix? i really like the fusion effects. Is it a ubuntu eee problem or maybe the netbook remix or is it hardware related? Please help me...
