[Bug 261121] Re: USB drive will not mount

Hi all,

A fix for this problem was implemented in eeepc-config 1.2-1, however,
it didn't take into account the fact that fstab is recreated during
install and so therefore failed to work. Since that time, the fix was
moved to the new eeepc-tweaks package, however this has not yet been
released ('cause we're still testing it).

Cheers, Ferry

Status in Ubuntu Eee: In Progress

Bug description:
Version: Ubuntu eee 8.0.4.1
System: eeePC 1000H

When inserting a USB drive, the drive will show up on the right side dock, but an error message pops up stating that the drive could not be mounted, in looking at the details of the error, it is stating that Super-User privileges are required.

editing the /etc/fstab file ( sudo vi /etc/fstab ) and commenting out the cdrom entires will fix this problem.
This issue exists with ubuntu eee 8.04 as well.
