[Question #45464]: Wireless problem on 900 Fn2 does no switch on
New question #45464 on Ubuntu Eee:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-eee/+question/45464
I have 8.04.1 on a Asus eee900. I turned off wireless via Fn2 and it went off as it should.
When I tried to turn it on again with Fn2, the message Wireless turned on appeared in the upper left corner, the blue wireless light came on, but after a few seconds it went off again. I tried this several times.
Then I saw a tip about checking the BIOS, and yes - wireless was switched off in the BIOS. I switched it on and now the wireless works fine again.
My machine was into both sleep and hibernation while wireless was turned off, but I tested now when it was turned on all the time, and the problem was the same.
