This is a known issue. It is going to be fixed by an upgrade to the
eeepc-config package which is happening this week.

Please be patient because this package also addresses the hotkeys and
module loading quirks between all devices. There's a lot to test.

AFAIK this specific problem only affects the EeePC 900. Earlier and
later models are unaffected.
