[Bug 261141] Re: Eee 1000 - Disabling Wireless Crashes System
Hello!
I had the same problems with my ASUS 1000H, it crashes when I used the Fn+F2 Hotkey.
So I tried first to edit the two scripts Christopher posted manually (to understand this stuff) but I guess I made some mistakes.
I downloaded the scripts and my system doesn't crash anymore.
But the wifi toggle doesn't work, it only shows me the message "WLAN off" (never WLAN on).
I tried a few things but I think I resetted all the changes. Then I tried to make my own WLAN off/on script.
First I prevent the script /etc/acpi/eeepc-hotkeys.sh from being executed by the command "chmod 444 /etc/acpi/eeepc-hotkeys.sh"
And then the Wifi-Switch Fn+F2 worked! And so do the other Keys. I tested the same again with the script executable and the Wifi-Toggle doesn't work. So I don't understand it! It would be nice if someone could explain this behaviour.
But it would also be nice if this hint may help someone.
Greetz,
Andy

Bug description:
Wireless is setup correctly, however when using the hotkey (FN&F2), the disable wireless icon appears - but the system then crashes. Only responds to a hard shutdown.
