[Bug 278968] Re: [ubuntu-eee] need longer battery life with ubuntu-eee

Thats because there are more background services running in ubuntu. Try
and disable some if you dont need them (things like cron and such).

Also there is a bit more cpu/gpu energy used in making the netbook remix
interface look pretty

also the cpu governece on xandros has 3 settings max medium and min. In
ubuntu you probably want to set the cpu governer to something more
conservitive than "ondemand" while running on battery life.

You can use ubuntu tweak to help you with getting rid of some start up
proccesses as well as adujsting the power/preformance settings.

Status in Ubuntu Eee: New

Bug description:
I've got 5.5 with all internal devices working on my Asus 901 with default Xandros.
But with ubuntu-eee installed - only 3.5 hours and I saw 7.5 hours in some screenshots of customized regular ubuntu.
