Re: [Question #48675]: What is Ubuntu EEE?

Question #48675 on Ubuntu Eee changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-eee/+question/48675

    Status: Open => Answered

surfed proposed the following answer:
It is, but your mileage may vary depending on the model of your eee. pre
901 models use different hardware and those should work perfectly i
believe, the 1000s have had various bios revisions since their release
this summer wich makes compatibility a problem. The wireless Driver is
new and just made it into the new dev-kernel a simple kernel upgrade
with adams kernel from array.org will get you up and running in no time.
At the current state of affairs you can get your eee working in less
than 30 minutes or wait for 8.10 to be released. And all things
cosidered, Ubuntu-eee is free and comes with no warranties :) it will
get better over time and any help on your behalf to improve this OS, be
it by testing, coding or documenting would be greatly appreciated. Linux
still is a hands on OS, no matter what anybody else says.
