Amey proposed the following answer:
i did something like this with firestarter except that it was the wlan
that had interent connection n i wanted to share over the lan. all you
gota do is install firestarter n set it that internet connected device
is the wlan and enable internet sharing on the lan then go to network
settings set up the lan ip address such that its different from the wlan
ip address for eg. wlan ip (192.168.0.10) and lan ip (192.168.1.10) then
the lan gateway address must be the wlan ip address then over at the
other laptop set up the lan ip address to be similar to the first laptop
lan ip address eg. (192.168.1.9) make sure the number before the last
dot is the same as the first laptop's lan ip nt sure how to do this the
other way arround tho first u gota kno how to connect to another pc
through wlan the easiest way is to get a router n just plug in the
cables n set up wlan network
