[Bug 300136] Re: wifi interface has disappeared after upgrading
Firstly, I upgraded to 8.10 and it started work. I don't have AP access
here, but ra0 is up, and some networks were detected.
after that, I upgraded BIOS from 1101 to 1803 and reinstall system back
to 8.04.1, and made it up-to-date. ra0 is available (sounds like BIOS
issue?). But wireless LED is still on. doesn't matter if the interface
is down or up. So, i added testing kernel from array.org and now seems
everything work fine. Haven't tested by connecting (because don't have a
public AP here) but looks nice. thx!

Bug description:
Many problems with wifi under 901 huh? But I can't still resolve my own.
After installing ubuntu-eee i got freezes during hitting Fn+F2. But wifi generally works fine.
I made safe and dist upgrade (via aptidute). No more freeze but the interface has disappeared!
There is no ra0 (or any other interesting interfaces on ifconfig output).
- wifi is on in BIOS
- lsmod shows rt2860sta loaded
- lspci: 01:00.0 Network controller: RaLink Unknown device 0781
- dmesg: nothing interesting found, but after hitting Fn+F2 i get:
[ 157.481097]
[ 157.481103]
[ 157.481104] === pAd = f9094000, size = 580808 ===
[ 157.481107]
[ 157.481130] <-- RTMPAllocAdapterBlock, Status=0
old scripts from /etc/acpi removed
