Thanks for the help. I did as you suggested and sure enough enabling
the WLAN card in the BIOS took care of the problem. Wireless now works
great. There may be a bug with the deactivation from the keyboard
though. If I use the Fn-F2 key combination to turn WiFi off and then
try to turn it on again the system tries to restart the WLAN card but
returns with a failure message. This is likely not a big deal as I can
simply leave the WiFi on, but for the times I would like to extend
battery life it would be nice to deactivate the card and reactivate
without having to reboot and go through the BIOS. Any ideas? Thanks
again for the very useful suggestions.
