[Bug 300976] Re: No notification or action on low battery

verify same problem on 1000h

installed 8.04 ubuntu eee suspends on battery power and hibernates at
low battery as expected.

After updates eeepc-config 1.3-7, kernel 2.6.24-21.39eeepc1 module
2.6.24-21.30eeepc6 .

On battery power computer just runs down the battery. it will not power
off, suspend or hibernate when critically low.

suspend works as expected on ac power.

manual suspend and hibernate from gnome power manager works. but will not suspend/hibernate on battery power when unattended.
on battery power screen saver activates and screen sleeps but computer does not go into sleep mode.

Status in Ubuntu Eee: New

Bug description:
I get no notification or action on low battery running on battery causing the battery to totally deplete, if no manual action are taken. This can (will) cause damage to the battery in the long run. When looking at the power history plots there is little or no valid data there. Guessing it could be the same problem. Furthermore, I have disabled the apmd service since there seems to be no support for it in the bios. I run only the acpi service.
I am running ubuntu eee 8.04.1 on a eee 900.
