Re: [Question #56470]: volume control stuck on maximum
Question #56470 on Easy Peasy changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-eee/+question/56470
Status: Open => Answered
Jonathon Hodges proposed the following answer:
Not sure about your volume control problem but Easy Peasy is the latest version of Ubuntu Eee, which for various reasons has been re-branded. Easy Peasy 1.0 is a special version of Ubuntu 8.10 for the eee pc and other netbooks. If you're interested in upgrading to the latest version, you can get it here:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/ubuntu-eee/easypeasy-1.0.iso?use_mirror=
What computer are you using? Can you post the link to the 8.04 fix for
me?
I suspect that you might need to start with:
sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
The configuration file you're trying to edit belongs to root (so you
need to sudo (i.e. superuser-do) first, which asks for your password).
It's also, as far as I know, a text file and so "sudo gedit
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base" runs gedit to edit the text file as if you
were the root user.
Any of that make sense?
Jon
