did X work up to a certain point? could you post the contents of /var/log/Xorg.0.log ?
What were you doing just before 'X broke' ?

Easy Peasy 1.0 Release
Eee PC 901 GO
Playing around first release the x brokes, gui look & fell changed and graphical error displayed some times.
BTW: Backgroundimage is not implemented nice - grainy border.
