[Bug 182489] Re: Atheros wireless (AR5007) not working on various laptops, including the ASUS Eee PC

An updated linux-backports-modules-2.6.24 package containing the new
ath5k driver has been accepted into hardy-proposed. However, the same
problem with the madwifi driver taking precedence still exists, so if
you have linux-restricted-modules installed then you will need to
blacklist ath_pci or remove the pci id from /usr/share/linux-
restricted-modules/2.6.24-19-generic/modules.alias.override/ath_hal

The Eee PC has non-working wireless out of the box. A patch is available from the madwifi website:

http://madwifi.org/ticket/1679

I'd like to have working wireless in hardy, without having to patch/compile manually :)
