[Ubuntugnome-qa] Fw: No proper restart instructions displayed

It actually looks like this a continuation of this older conversation:

https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-gnome/2013-October/000895.html

How should this bug be filed?

ATM I want to be sure we get this mentioned in the release notes.

Actually I think the Ubuntu base is so buggy that they should delay release, but most of their problems don't effect us.

Subject: [Ubuntugnome-qa] No proper restart instructions displayed

Apologies in advance.

I'm sure this message will look horrible in the archives but I'm hardware challenged ATM :^(

I'm using what is usually my communications box for testing so I have little other choice.

Anyway, I performed one installation test starting from the Live DE and all went well, that is all of the restart messages were displayed properly.

The next test was performed by selecting Install after waiting for Install or Try to appear, and then no proper messages were displayed after being asked to "restart now".

The disc had been checked for defects and it's fine.

A few lines of text appeared but nothing indicating to "remove media and press enter", but just removing the DVD and pressing enter did work.

The problem is that with no proper message displayed people will undoubtedly try all of the wrong things and then finally do a hard reset :^(

I did take a picture of the screen (I hope) but then my camera battery went dead.

Now, I'll be glad to file a bug report but I'm not sure what package to file it against.

I don't think casper is running when you start the installation w/o booting to the live DE first???

Regardless I'm charging my camera battery and if those pics turn out I'd like to file a bug if I know what package to file against.

I know it may be too late to fix it but we should at least mention it in our release notes.

I don't think it's related to this Lubuntu bug:

Thanks in advance,

Lance
