[Ubuntugnome-qa] reliable apt-get with unreliable internet connection
Hi All,
I tried to upgrade Ubuntu Gnome from 13.10 to 14.04 and ran into
problems directly while using an unreliable Internet connection. The
connection works well for one minute then it disappears and appears again.

This is since it took very long time to download index files and they
changed content. I made several "apt-get update" attempts. After
deleting "/var/lib/apt/lists/*" I could issue another apt-get update.
Still no success of downloading all index files.
Is there a reliable way of downloading index files with "apt-get update"?
Is there a reliable way of later doing "apt-get (dist-)upgrade"?
Downloading all packages!
... and of course: Is there a reliable way of upgrading to Ubuntu Gnome
14.04 beta? Downloading all packages!
Best regards,
Patrik
