Subject: Can't select new user account at login

After reading some recent comments I decided to try creating a new user account.

So I created Jack Sprat as a normal user, but I can't find a way to select that user at login?

Any thoughts?

PS: It's also true that changing auto-login to off requires two reboots to take ahold.
