[Ubuntugnome-qa] Flashback bug breaks Ubuntu GNOME Trusty
Hi Tim and everyone. I'd actually noticed this during Trusty dev but
considered it only a minor nuisance until I received a couple of angry
phone calls from friends that found themselves unable to boot into any
session in Ubuntu GNOME. So I'm at fault for not filing a bug much
earlier. The report is here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/1332183
Basically if someone has chosen to automatically login and then installs
'gnome-session-flashback' they're offered the non-existent option of
GNOME Flashback (Compiz) and it can be a bit tricky getting back to the
login screen if a user chooses that broken session.
Alberts was very quick to fix that in Utopic, and I've tested it in both
Ubuntu GNOME and Ubuntu so I'm reasonably sure there is no regression
potential. But I don't know how to edit the bug report info to show that
it's only fixed in Utopic and still needs to be fixed in Trusty.
I'd be glad to edit the bug description with the needed info for an SRU
so we can get the fix uploaded to trusty-proposed. Then I'll provide
verification testing - cross-testing with Ubuntu and Edubuntu also - so
we can complete the SRU process.
Thanks in advance.
Lance
PS: I requested that Doug allow me to edit this bug description:

The proposed change is attached to my latest comment.
