Re: [Ubuntugnome-qa] [Attention] Testing Ubuntu GNOME and QA Team Activities
Ali/Tim and all others that actively work behind the scenes,
I appreciate the efforts you guys put in. Ali, I've seen you apologize
a few times for real-life needs taking the forefront and I don't
really think you should have to apologize to anyone. You are someone
with vision that helps give focus. Your efforts to organize the
community are commendable. I think everyone understand that none of
you are paid and have other life obligations to balance.
Now, I'd love to be more active, but as you've seen, I've been quiet
since the LTS release. Heck, I was quite before if only because I'm
still new to the expectations/needs. Shortly after the LTS release, I
went on a business trip/trip to see family in the United States. When
I returned to Germany, I was preparing to head out the door on a
military deployment. Now I am deployed with some free time, but
minimal because I am the leader of my team. Bandwidth is also an issue
-- right now I'm forced to use "basic HTML" GMail to ensure it
actually loads. I still read the discussion and try to learn from the
goings-on, but I don't have the time that you guys would ask of me. If
this means I am seen as dead-weight and need to be weeded out, so be
it.
I wish you guys the best and hope that more folks are willing and able
to step forward.
Respectfully,
Eric
