The install on physical hardware completed without issue. I am spinning up a VirtualBox instance now.

Hmm, then so far, it is only me ... I can't test that on real hardware because I don't have that option at the moment. Sadly, the virtual path is all what I can do right now :(

Second I have successfully installed Ubuntu GNOME 14.04.2 and booted up. I set it up with 3 partitions (1-root, 2-home, 3-swap). I also clicked for download updates and third party stuff (mp3 support and flash things).

Have you followed the same steps here:

Is that on real hardware or virtual?
