[Bug 260406] Re: Sync gnuradio 3.2.2.dfsg-1 (multiverse) from Debian unstable (main)

I did test that the package (with the small patch) builds and installs
and functions on Lucid, as evidenced by the logs and screenshot I
attached:

 - pbuilder-gnuradio_3.2.2.dfsg-1ubuntu1.log
 - lucid-install-gnuradio_3.2.2.dfsg-1ubuntu1.log
 - gnuradio-lucid-Screenshot.png

Below are the bugs holding up gnuradio in Debian, and my reasoning as to
why they need not hold up inclusion in Lucid. All in all, I do not
think that this would be a regression from our current outdated gnuradio
package. If this FFe is granted, I will prepare a patched upload as
described, if that's preferred to a sync-then-patch.

#559640 [S|+| ] [gnuradio-companion] gnuradio-companion: fails to
start, preferences parser problem ('NoneType' object has no attribute
'get_flow_graph'

I can't reproduce this in my testing on Lucid.

#557050 [S|P| ] [gnuradio] grc and gnuradio-companion: error when
trying to install together

The Debian maintainer has added a conflict, but seems to regard this
as a low-priority because he does not "anticipate much overlap of
interest between the two packages".

#566564 [S| | ] [libusrp0] fails to install
#566565 [S| | ] [libusrp2-0] fails to install

These are piuparts bugs. Both packages do install fine on Lucid (see
log), at least when installed with the rest of the gnuradio set. I did
attempt to run piuparts myself, trying to recreate the reported issue,
but couldn't get piuparts to work at all in Lucid.

Status in “gnuradio” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed

Bug description:
Please sync gnuradio 3.2.2.dfsg-1 (multiverse) from Debian unstable (main)

*** Note: a small patch (comment #6) is required to build 3.2.2.dfsg-1 on Lucid. It adds a couple missing build deps and removes stale prebuilt Qt .moc files which get regenerated during the build. Please apply it after sync (or I will apply it in bzr; I'm not sure of the procedure here).

FeatureFreeze exception justification:

*** Ubuntu's version of gnuradio is over two years old. The Ubuntu ham community would like to be able to enjoy the improved stability and features that have been introduced to gnuradio over that interval. I have examined the pending Debian bugs against this version of gnuradio and I find none of them to be show-stoppers, however the package seems to be stalled from entering Debian testing because of them. I will be following up on that situation with Debian, but I don't think we need to further delay integration of gnuradio into Lucid in the meantime.

*** Attached find build and install logs and screenshot:
 - pbuilder-gnuradio_3.2.2.dfsg-1ubuntu1.log

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:

*** All ubuntu delta changes have been merged upstream or obsoleted by upstream changes.
