[Bug 369257] Re: klog added symbolic link preventing installation of kdelib to install

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner.
There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test the current Ubuntu development version (10.04). If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #>, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Status in “klog” package in Ubuntu: In Progress

Bug description:
Binary package hint: klog

just installed 9.04 and started adding Ham Radio programs - klog was one
tried apt-get update and got error for kdelib5-data-?? apt-get -f install - did not help
error was about subdirectory 'common' trying to be overwritten and was created? by klog.

This is the path: (common was symbolic link to klog in same directory) if I cd common - I did not move anywhere! So I cd klog and there was another symbolic link to preveous directory and itself!

/usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/common --> klog
/usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/klog/common --> ../common (seems like there was a recursive link here!)

Solution: I rm both links to ;common', removed klog, and re-ran install program to install kdelib5-data which created a directory called 'common' in /usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/common (not a symbolic link).
