For Xenial:

Download the icon at
https://github.com/csete/gqrx/blob/master/resources/icons/gqrx.svg

save it in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/96x96/apps

edit /usr/share/applications/gqrx.desktop
 correcting the line:
   Icon=gqrx.svg (must match the filename)

Bug description:
  The Gqrx package cannot be installed using the Gnome Software
  application because it's missing the needed metadata.
