Title:
Mulitimon fails when using sox to convert sound files

Status in multimon package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I wanted to decode some DTMF from a wav file.

  I tried multimon -t wav -a DTMF <filename.wav>

  The error came back:

  $ multimon -t wav -a DTMF /tmp/dtmf.wav
  multimod (C) 1996/1997 by Tom Sailer HB9JNX/AE4WA

  Enabled demodulators: DTMF
sox WARN getopt: option `s' not recognized
  sox FAIL sox: invalid option

It seems that the version of sox:
  sox:
    Installed: 14.4.2-3
    Candidate: 14.4.2-3
    Version table:
   *** 14.4.2-3 500
          500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/universe amd64 Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

  has broken compatibility with multimon.
