Re: Xsane and Canon Lide 20

Shalom!

Well I just installed XSane from Ubuntu Mate apt-get

xsane_0.999-3ubuntu1_amd64.deb

and it wells fine on my PC on Ubuntu Mate 16.04. I had thought I had upgraded but apparently not.

You might try asking the XSane people. There may be a problem with the configuration file or something like that. In any case the LIDE210 at 600 or less works on my PC.

May be you set it for a higher resolution?

Well, as I mentioned, other apps work.

The thing is, I like the power of XSane, especially the ability to Batch Scan.

I was looking for tips on how to troubleshoot the problem...

It *used* to work until recently. Maybe one of the recent system updates?

Thanks!

I have a LDE210 scanner connected to my Linux box.
I was running Ubuntu 16.04 but have moved on to Ubuntu Mate 16.10
since it is a home computer. I am still on Ubuntu Mate 16.04 on my
    server.
I have not had any problem with the standard "Simple Scan" program.
I while back I noticed that sometimes the Scan program that I was
working with did not work but when I used a different program
first it would work there after.
I do not use XSane directly.

    Hi all,

    I am running XSane v0.999 on Ubuntu 16.04. I have a Canon Lide20
scanner connected via USB 2.0. All was working perfectly.
Suddenly XSane stopped working with my scanner. GScan2PDF works
    just fine.

When I try to scan a preview the motor does not work and all I
get is a black box. The funny thing is, when I exit XSane, the
    motor starts moving...

    I can't figure out what's wrong....

    Any points?

    Thanks!
