@Hans looks like your changes have solved the problem. With new
synaptic.mo attached, I can no longer reproduce the problem. Could you
please confirm by downloading this .mo and placing it into
/usr/share/locale/nb/LC_MESSAGES/. Make sure to backup
/usr/share/locale/nb/LC_MESSAGES/synaptic.mo before doing this, so you
can restore if new version is not good.

This file is generated using export mechanics in Launchpad:
