[Bug 585484] Re: Factual problem with sudo on page 123

 

I missed that there is another bug to this fact: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-manual/+bug/546295
At least I think that the same text passage is meant even though the page numbers differs (perhaps the reason why I missed it first).

Nevertheless I think it is not a good idea to use a graphical
application as an example, also there would be probably no problem with
especially gedit. The eventuality that a user accidentally uses sudo
with an graphical application which causes a log in problem alarms me.

In the example of sudo a graphical application is used (gedit). As far as I know using sudo with graphical applications is dangerous and I was told to use gksudo (for further information: http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/graphicalsudo).

I think that a non-graphical application might be better as a example.
