Alan,

At the moment I do not believe there is a plan for a 3rd Edition of the
Lucid Manual. Which is why it was deferred until the maverick manual.

In addition there was not time to fix this with the lucid e2 deadline.

Bug description:
The manual discusses the use of apt-get update and apt-get upgrade but doesn't mention apt-get dist-upgrade. Generally for new users dist-upgrade is preferable to upgrade.
