Should there be a codename animal / mascot for every release?

Should we use a lynx on the cover for this release?
If yes: should it be the lynx drawn by Wolter?

Is Wolter's passage-into-the-light concept appropriate?
Is it the one to go with?
If yes: Is Wolter's execution of it satisfying?
