Re: [Bug 535371] Re: Translations keep disappearing

Just reminding this issue since I linked it (as my previous bug [1]
describing the same thing) to a blueprint [2] registered on *2005-11-03*.

As Данило Шеган wrote: "we still haven't had the time to do it". I feel a
bit sad about this you know. It's over four years and nothing has happened.
I know that Launchpad is developed by volunteers as UMP is. But four years
for string comparing? I wonder how much medium priority this issue is... :((

In fact one guy brought me on this thought today when he was arguing about
how Rosetta dropping altered strings. And how bad is it for our development
(mainly translation).

He also wrote something like if we were not using Rosetta, we could already
continuously translate. Thereby there will be no time pressure to
translators. Also there will be a better chance to get more translators who
will translate even a few strings/sentences/paragraphs at the time. Those
strings would be then just kept updated when original string 'd change.

I could do nothing but agree.

Unfortunately I don't know about any different program for managing
translations which can also handle these similar strings.
And even I *really* hope that we can translate our manual to release date,
here's a question:

Is Rosetta the right tool for our project regarding to translations?
