Here's information on the shopping lens and how to disable it in the
privacy settings (our hope that it would be off by default looks, uh,
dashed (pun intended)).  This link also includes a screenshot of the option
in the privacy settings, which is why I'm forwarding this link. I'll update
chapter 2 before the deadline.
