Re: Update Xenial authors/editors March 20th 2016

Hello Pravin and all authors/editors,
The work you have done so far is much appreciated. I understand that your time is limited and that you only want to be reviewer for the other sections that have your name in the author/editor column. I will remove your name from the author/editor column and at the same time I would like to ask others to please have a look at the sections on the spreadsheet [1] that do not have an author/editor yet. If you can find the time to read these, please add your name to the section. I am sure that quite a few sections do not need changes at all, or only minor ones, but the minimum action they need is reading and approval.

As my time is limited too, I want to say that I cannot be responsible for all the remaining sections myself.

I would also like to ask everyone to update the shared spreadsheet as soon as you have read your sections. You can choose "Complete" if the section needs no changes at all, or "In progress" if it needs changes; here you might add a comment like "only minor changes needed" or "Major changes needed". If I look at the spreadsheet, only Miles has completed his sections. Thanks, Miles! I do hope the spreadsheet will soon show there is more activity going on, because we do not have much time left before the release of Xenial. And like I said before, if you have any questions, or encounter any problems during the process, please do not hesitate to contact us via this list.
Cheers,
Hannie

Hi,

I had opted as reviewer but my name is highlighted in Author.

I have limited time during my weekends and I can act as reviewer. I have already submitted my initial review notes on Installation.

    Prologue - Hannie Dumoleyn
    Installation - Eric Marsh
Working with documents - Eric Marsh
    Software management - Thomas Corwin
    Advanced topics - Thomas Corwin
Running Windows Programs on Ubuntu - Thomas Corwin
    Learning more - Hannie Dumoleyn

Could those who have not yet added their name to a
chapter/section, please have a look at the sheet and select the
chapters/sections you want to take responsibility for? It is
possible to have more than one name next to a chapter (especially
the big ones). Quite a few chapters/sections only need to be read
(UM Trusty second edition), but do not need any changes, or only
minor ones. Others need more time and attention.
In preparation I have installed Xenial Xerus alpha in Virtual Box.
I do not yet see many differences. I did read somewhere that the
Ubuntu Software Center will be replaced by "Gnome Software", but I
    am not sure about this.
Anyone who has news about Xenial, please share it with us using
    this mailing list.
