Message #00039
Introduction
Good morning,
Maybe it's nice to introduce myself to the team. To start with, I am glad
this team was launched with a strong focus on NGO's. It fits with an idea
that I put down in an article in April 2007 (http://tinyurl.com/mdorvh).
My involvement in Linux and open source took the shape of becoming a writer,
columnist and journalist. At the moment the tally stands at two books on
Ubuntu (one already in reprint) and one on open source and open standards,
apart from contributing to a text book for higher education and co-editing
the Dutch open source yearbook 2008/2009 (all in Dutch). I give
presentations and workshops on a regular basis, and later this year I will
be involved in delivering the Ubuntu Desktop Course.
I guess this also sums up the way I can contribute to the team. My main
focus is Windows 2 Linux migration from the endusers' perspective. When it
comes to actual implementations and hands-on support, providing on- and
offline textmaterials etcetera, I am at your service.
For today I am sorry for not being able to attend the meeting. Prior
appointments have to take precedence.
Kindest regards
Jan Steehouder
